Texas Hydraulics’ headquarters and 2 manufacturing facilities are located in Temple, Texas. Temple, the Wildflower Capital of Texas, is centrally located between Austin and Dallas and has a population of approximately 72,000. The town has a hometown feeling characterized by pleasant neighbors and friendly families. Temple’s major industry is medicine with one of the largest multi-specialty group practices in the United States – Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Clinic.

For entertainment, Temple offers a variety of choices. Local actors and actresses present live theatre on the stage at the Temple Civic Theatre. The Temple Parks and Leisure Services Department provides a full schedule of sports, entertainment and community programs for preschoolers through senior citizens. Salado, located south of Temple, holds its annual art fair in August that draws visitors and artists from across the Southwest for one of the finest events of its kind. In the fall, Friday nights are reserved for Temple Wildcat high school football, a Temple tradition!

Summary:  The HR Manager role exists to help design and execute Texas Hydraulics’ Human Resources programs and policies to support the overall business strategy. This includes the full spectrum of HR responsibilities including, but not limited to: change management, employee relations, employee engagement, compensation, recruiting, training, development, coaching, performance, benefits and overall impact on culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensures positive employee relations and helps build culture and competitive advantage through our people and people systems.
  • Responsible for local and creative recruiting programs ensuring staffing needs are met in a timely manner. 
  • Identify training needs and provide recommended solutions to clients.
  • Lead and coordinate action plans to increase employee engagement.
  • Oversees implementation of THI programs to comply with various governmental regulations dealing with EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA and other related Federal & State laws.
  • Participate in compensation planning and survey participation.
  • Implements performance assessment and employee development planning processes as assigned.
  • Responsible for local employee orientations and training.
  • Identifies and communicates general issues and concerns to the VP Human Resources and participates in development of the proper response to such issues. 
  • Ensures consistent THI policy implementation throughout assigned business group(s).
  • Serve as the backup for benefits and payroll administration.

 

Education / Training / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Bilingual English and Spanish – written and verbal.
  • Minimum 7 years experience as a generalist in human resources required.
  • Extensive generalist experience in the field of human resources including recruiting, performance management, employee relations, benefits, training, compensation, and labor relations. 
  • Knowledgeable in applicable HR policies, laws, & regulations.

Summary: Responsible for driving and sustaining continuous Lean Process Improvement throughout the organization, including both the manufacturing processes and the transactional processes. Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and promotes change management.  Can engage a team of associates to think outside the box and completed Kaizen within 5 days.  Seen as a leader and a part of the senior operations management team.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Drive a change thinking culture
  • Works with Director of Quality in maintaining Kaizen Funnel. Ensure alignment of funnel with the AOP and Strategic Plan.
  • Provides leadership for Kaizen Events.

     Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

Welding-Welder (1st and 2nd Shift)

Summary: Welds together metal components for THI products and performs the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Obtains specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun.
  • Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by Welding Engineer or Welding Technician.
  • Starts power supply to produce electric current.
  • Strikes (forms) arc which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to workpiece and join edges of workpiece.
  • Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.
  • Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Applies filler rod manually to supply weld metal.
  • Cleans or degreases weld joint or workpiece.
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes.
  • Prepares broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces.
  • Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
  • Preheats workpiece with hand torch or heating furnace.
  • Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixture.
  • Tacks assemblies together.

 

Education / Training / Experience:

  •  Minimum High School/GED or Technical school or one to two years related experience.
  • Successfully complete AWS D1.1 Certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Ability to follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

 

Skills:

  • Successfully demonstrate welding proficiency in pre-employment weld test.
