Texas Hydraulics’ headquarters and 2 manufacturing facilities are located in Temple, Texas. Temple, the Wildflower Capital of Texas, is centrally located between Austin and Dallas and has a population of approximately 72,000. The town has a hometown feeling characterized by pleasant neighbors and friendly families. Temple’s major industry is medicine with one of the largest multi-specialty group practices in the United States – Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Clinic.

For entertainment, Temple offers a variety of choices. Local actors and actresses present live theatre on the stage at the Temple Civic Theatre. The Temple Parks and Leisure Services Department provides a full schedule of sports, entertainment and community programs for preschoolers through senior citizens. Salado, located south of Temple, holds its annual art fair in August that draws visitors and artists from across the Southwest for one of the finest events of its kind. In the fall, Friday nights are reserved for Temple Wildcat high school football, a Temple tradition!

Temple offers a variety of education. The Temple Independent School district prepares school aged children for graduation as well as future successes. Higher education is available locally at Temple College, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor or the University of Central Texas.

Summary:  This strategic position is the primary point of coordination and interface within the supply chain organization and in concert with the global supply chain team providing comprehensive supply chain leadership with focus on strategic sourcing, purchasing and primary working capital performance. This key function drives the development of strategic plans, the supporting objectives, and proactively manages supporting events to assure attainment of agreed upon performance.  This function establishes policies & procedures, taking the necessary steps to assure compliance. This position will lead to improvements in primary working capital performance, product and raw material costs all while maintaining or increasing quality and delivery. This position leads the effort to achieve and maintain alignment in the value chain between the suppliers, Texas Hydraulics and the end customer in all form, fit, function, price and delivery requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

* Direct the activities of all functions involved in the purchasing, planning, warehousing and control of materials from the receipt of forecasting replenishment needs to the delivery of the finished product into finished goods inventory and delivery of products to customers.

* Ensure that THI supply chain risk mitigation plans are developed and executed. 

* Manage inventory and establish controls to ensure THI is operating at the highest level of performance based on key metrics and minimize supply chain risk.

* Develop strategies, policies, procedures, and overall team to optimize value of the entire function in creating a world-class materials management group.

* Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to procurement.

* Develop and continuously improve supplier programs.

* Participate in existing and new product planning processes to assure timely acquisition of materials to support product launches.

* Lead negotiation efforts for major contracts.

* Develop and manage departmental budgets accordingly.

* Establish annual goals and objectives in coordination with overall THI goals and manage performance to ensure attainment.

Education / Training / Experience:

* BA or BS degree in a business/industrial related field or equivalent experience.

* 8 years of direct supply chain, operations, distribution or related field experience.

* Experience with Mills, Tube, and Rod, and Cartridge Valves supplier preferred.

* Experience in developing or participating in a Sales, Inventory, Operations & Planning (SIOP) process

* 5 years of supervisory experience with demonstrated team development.

* Proficient in ERP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

* Lean experience, Green Belt with preference to Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.

Summary: Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

*Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.

*Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.

*Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

*Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.

*Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.

*Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.

*Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

* Minimum High School/GED or Technical school or one to two years related experience.

Job Title

Welding-Welder (1st and 2nd Shift)

Summary: Welds together metal components for THI products and performs the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

* Obtains specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun.

* Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by Welding Engineer or Welding Technician.

* Starts power supply to produce electric current.

* Strikes (forms) arc which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to workpiece and join edges of workpiece.

* Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.

* Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.

* Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.

* Applies filler rod manually to supply weld metal.

* Cleans or degreases weld joint or workpiece.

* Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes.

* Prepares broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces.

* Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.

* Preheats workpiece with hand torch or heating furnace.

* Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixture.

* Tacks assemblies together.

 

Education / Training / Experience:

* Minimum High School/GED or Technical school or one to two years related experience.

* Successfully complete AWS D1.1 Certification within 12 months of hire.

*Ability to follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

 

Skills:

*Successfully demonstrate welding proficiency in pre-employment weld test.

*Demonstrate math proficiency as it relates to this job
