Insurance

Employment - Texas Hydraulics, Inc.

Medical & Vision – Each division of Texas Hydraulics offers a 2 PPO and 1 CDHP type of health plan. Each plan provides a wide variety of coverage for employees and their dependents. For eligible new employees and their dependents, coverage is available first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Dental – Each division of Texas Hydraulics offers employees and eligible dependents dental benefits. These include usual, customary and reasonable charges for oral evaluations, cleanings, fillings, root canals, and other dental services.

Prescriptions – Texas Hydraulics medical plans have prescription coverage. Co-pays vary with each plan.

Life – Texas Hydraulics provides no-cost life insurance to all employees. Coverage begins first of the month following 30 days of employment. Additional life insurance may be purchased for the employee, spouse or dependents.

Disability – Benefits are also available due to disability from accident, illness or pregnancy.

Paid Time Off

Vacations – Texas Hydraulics has a paid vacation policy that is based on years of service. Ten (five for hourly employees) days are available after one full year of service and as many as 20 days after 20 years of service.

Holidays – All employees enjoy 9 paid holidays each year – New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after, Christmas Day and a Christmas floater.

Sick Leave – After the first year of service, hourly employees are eligible for 1 day of paid sick time. After the second year of service, hourly employees are eligible for 2 days of paid sick time.

Performance Bonus

All Texas Hydraulics employees are participants in the company performance bonus program. The program is designed to reward earnings growth and high return on investment.

Retirement

Upon employment, employees are eligible to join a Retirement Savings Plan. Employees contribute to the plan through payroll deductions.

Texas Hydraulics’ headquarters and 2 manufacturing facilities are located in Temple, Texas. Temple, the Wildflower Capital of Texas, is centrally located between Austin and Dallas and has a population of approximately 72,000. The town has a hometown feeling characterized by pleasant neighbors and friendly families. Temple’s major industry is medicine with one of the largest multi-specialty group practices in the United States – Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Clinic.

For entertainment, Temple offers a variety of choices. Local actors and actresses present live theatre on the stage at the Temple Civic Theatre. The Temple Parks and Leisure Services Department provides a full schedule of sports, entertainment and community programs for preschoolers through senior citizens. Salado, located south of Temple, holds its annual art fair in August that draws visitors and artists from across the Southwest for one of the finest events of its kind. In the fall, Friday nights are reserved for Temple Wildcat high school football, a Temple tradition!

Temple offers a variety of education. The Temple Independent School district prepares school aged children for graduation as well as future successes. Higher education is available locally at Temple College, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor or the University of Central Texas.

*Coordinates technical liaison services between management, production department, sales department, and customers with newly developed techniques or practices in processing company products.

*Coordinates technical liaison services to inform customers of new types, specifications, and end uses of products.

*Confers with production department managers to assist in specific classification of products from quality assurance position, report on new product or process technology of competitors, and to discuss new specifications required by customers.

*Directs investigation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered condition of products.

*Records, analyzes, and informs concerned personnel of production quality assurance, and sales departments of status and disposition of customer complaints and claims.

*Negotiates settlement of claims, for which company is responsible, within limits prescribed by management.

*Surveys potential markets for increasing sales.

*Approximately 50% of time spent in outside sales support on existing customers.

Summary:  Coordinates with all necessary departments and personnel within the organization, suppliers, customers, and any other parties required to prepare and present propositions (quotations) to customers. Works with said parties to ensure projects meet internal commitment dates to customers.

*Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists.

*Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.

*Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions; work with the Market Analyst to develop and conduct voice of the customer studies.

*Exercising independent initiative and judgment, consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

*Interface with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates.

*Develop potential leads and Qualify or Un-qualify leads.

*Organizes and manages a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized.

*Analyzes completed projects to compare estimated costs to standard costs and determine the reason for any discrepancies.

*Provides improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.

*Check for completion of Application Review RFQ forms and track RFQs in house; Logging in previously mentioned database.

*Create BOMs with cost data, runtimes, set uptimes, and material costs with cost rates.

*Price products and communicate quotations to customers.

*Provide input and market intelligence reports to management on industry, product, customer, price, and other trends deemed necessary.

*Compile and provide periodic reports on quotations, open orders, booked orders, and shipments.

*Identifies cost trends to assist other departmentsin cost reduction and process improvement efforts.

*Works with others to coordinate & assist in the on-boarding of new customers, progress of new products & other sales projects or initiatives.

*Attend periodic training courses.

*Travel to trade shows each year as required.

Summary:  Welds together metal components for THI products and performs the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

*Obtains specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun.

*Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by Welding Engineer or Welding Technician.

*Starts power supply to produce electric current.

*Strikes (forms) arc which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece.

*Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.

*Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.

*Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.

*Applies filler rod manually to supply weld metal.

*Cleans or degreases weld joint or work piece.

*Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes.

*Prepares broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces.

*Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.

*Preheats work piece with hand torch or heating furnace.

*Positions and clamps work pieces together or assembles them in jig or fixture.

*Tacks assemblies together.

*High School diploma/GED or technical school; or one to two years of related experience.

*Successfully complete AWS D1.1 Certification within 12 months of hire.
